  New Golfer
(Skill Level 0-1)

  • May never have held a golf club

  • May have been on a golf course

  • Has never taken lessons

  • Has little knowledge of golf etiquette

  • Has uncomfortable stance and swing

  • Is unfamiliar with golf terms

 

Advanced New Golfer (Skill Level 2)

  • Scores 111 - 120 for 18 holes

  • Plays regularly, but weekly at most

  • Practices rarely

  • Still working on the basics

  • Learning rules and etiquette

 

Intermediate (Skill Level 3)

  • Scores 101 - 110 for 18 holes

  • Plays regularly, 1-2 times a week

  • Practices occasionally

  • Still uncomfortable in competition


Advanced Intermediate (Skill Level 4)

  • Scores 85 - 100 for 18 holes

  • Plays regularly, 2-3 times a week

  • Practices weekly

  • Plays competitively

  • Has an official USGA handicap

Advanced (Skill Level 5)

  • Scores better than 85 for 18 holes

  • Plays regularly, 2-3 times a week

  • Practices weekly

  • Plays competitively

  • Has an official USGA handicap
