Saukie League

TEE TIMES: Start 4:45 p.m.
LEAGUE START/END: April 28/August 11
LEAGUE SIZE: League is limited to 16 members.
LEAGUE FORMAT: Individual Play. Handicap will be established for each
golfer during league play.
LEAGUE DESCRIPTION: This is a less structured league that allows you the
opportunity to golf on a regular basis. The tee times are based on a first come,
first tee off basis. You are encouraged to "mix it up" and golf with everyone in
the league. League statistics will be kept so you can have a record of your
improvement. There are weekly contests and end of the season awards. This league
is ideal for golfers who are not into the competitive side of golf.
To keep up the speed of play winter rules will apply.
LEAGUE CAPTAIN: Angie Cleppe
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The layout of this course is described as "executive
length", which typically means a Par 3 course. Saukie is longer than a Par 3
course but is relatively short, especially the front 9, when compared to other
Quad Cities golf courses. The course however has many ravines which can leave the
golfer with a steep uphill or steep downhill lie. On the positive side, the
course is almost devoid of sand and water. The greens are slow with little if
any break; this is helpful for the new golfer. This is a good course for new and
intermediate level golfers.
LEAGUE POLICY: When you sign up for an EWGA League you are required to
pay the league fee, in advance, for the entire season. Once the league has
started no refunds will be given. If you are unable to continue to participate
in a league, you may arrange for another member to replace you for the balance
of the season. You, however, are responsible for negotiating compensation from
the person replacing you on the league. The league captain and EWGA Board will
not be involved.
